North Kingdom- Swedish interactive design company (northkingdom.com)
North Kingdom is a design company specialising in interactive projects (Flash games, websites, presentations etc). Their works were many times awarded by FWA (Favourite Websites Award)- that’s really prestigious and I wish I could receive such an award one day… I won’t just keep dreaming, I will work on my skills and creativity to make this dream come true in future. OK, enough bullshit :), let’s keep going with the topic.
The first project that I would like to present in this post is a Mentos Kiss Fight (click this link to play)- game created for BBH London/Mentos. North Kingdom was responsible for design, development of the game, logistics and filming. Game is simple and easy- you have to fight against girls- instead of weapons, kicks or hits you have simply to kiss her and make sure she will not kiss you too often. Simple, a little dumb- but it is made neatly and it was worth spending a few minutes on it (not more ;)).

On Toyota’s mind is a beautifully designed interactive presentation of various Toyota’s inventions and ideas implemented in their cars.
The last project I wanted to present here is the game “Get The Glass” (FWA site of the month and Gold at Cannes Lions 2007). The game is simply perfect- the animations, 3D modelling, music, even the game play. Everything in it is first class and it was really pleasant to try and play it- check it out yourself!
Sisterface- creative studio from Madrid
Sisterface (Enrique Pastor and Juan Carlos Mesa) is a small studio which is based in Madrid/Shanghai. They work with various media; their projects include design and identity work for brands, music industry etc.
What I like in their style are the colourful, quite simple shapes which create the whole image. It is especially visible in two of their works created for the exhibition Simone de Beauvoir, which are presented below:
Branding brochure of Viacom presented below is created with a similar technique:
And this is a bonus image presenting a T-shirt made by Sisterface studio. Quite controversial, for some it may look horrible. What do you think about it?
Nigel Evan Dennis – Chicago artist (Electric Heat)
Electric Heat is a commercial portfolio of Nigel Evan Dennis, young graphic designer from Chicago.
His style combines different artistic techniques (photography, standard illustration, typography) to create his advertising works. The list of his clients is long and it includes the following: Converse, Adobe, Lipton, MTV, Toyota, Microsoft, Fanta, Sony BMG, Coca-Cola, Absolut Vodka.. He has also created works for the American hip-hop artists, namely Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common.
Sicksystems- Russian design studio
Sicksystems is a design studio from Moscow, Russia. The agency is formed by 3 talented guys: Aske, Kio and Kola (I love their nicknames :)) They started as graffiti artists some years ago and actually this influence is quite visible in most of their works. Now they are working with various media and in many design areas. They are very careful about the geometrical forms and shapes as well as the graffiti-like typography.
In the portfolio there are plenty of good works: advertising commercials and posters, clothing (T-shirts, accessories), snowboards, logotypes. Plenty of good stuff- below I present just a few examples of their works. Enjoy!

Sculpture made for Nike advertising campaign (I love this one!)
Oh Yeah Studio (ohyeahstudio.no)- Norwegian design
Oh Yeah Studio is a small graphic design studio from Norway composed of Christina and Hans Christian (btw I already wrote a post about someone else from Norway before). In the portfolio of Oh Yeah Studio all of works presented are non-commercial, customer-intervention-free. As they call it: “stuff after dinner”.
Their style is quite difficult to describe. They use quite clean backgrounds, usually some grey gradients. The main elements of the picture are clearly presented and placed. What I like about their works is simple structures and the fact that fonts and shapes look unreal and unnatural. Hmm, as I said: it’s hard to describe their works, better to look at them.
